UNIHIKE – CLASS TREK SERIES WITH 3 BCA
The group comprised 12 students and 2 faculty members, accompanied by their Class Teacher, Mr. Naived George Eapen, who welcomed the students and set the tone for the day. Faculty members Dr. Anita Kumari and Dr. Lekha J also joined the trek, enriching the experience with their presence and support. The activity was guided and facilitated by Mr. Alanso Mathew and Mr. Tanmay Singh from Lavasa Trekkers, who ensured safety, structure, and eco-conscious practices throughout the trek.
The participants assembled at the Central Block at 8:30 AM, where they received a short briefing on the trek route, safety measures, and sustainable practices. With enthusiasm and anticipation, the group began the journey toward Lingya Ghat, moving through shaded forest paths, streams, and rocky trails that reflected the richness of Lavasa’s natural landscape.
The weather added a unique charm to the experience. Students trekked through foggy stretches and light rain showers, which made the trail more adventurous and created a mystical atmosphere. The soothing sound of raindrops, cool breeze, and greenery all around elevated the sense of calm and rejuvenation for the participants.
By 10:30 AM, the group reached the magnificent Lingya Ghat Waterfalls. The sight of water cascading down the rocks amidst misty surroundings was breathtaking. Students paused here to capture photographs, engage in conversations, and spend reflective moments appreciating the beauty of nature. The faculty members interacted informally with the students, which strengthened bonds beyond the classroom. Lavasa Trekkers emphasized the importance of eco-friendly trekking practices, encouraging students to avoid littering and to respect the natural environment.
After spending quality time at the waterfall, the group began their return journey at 11:15 AM. The trek back was filled with conversations, laughter, and a renewed sense of togetherness. By the time they returned to campus, participants expressed a strong sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.
The students shared that the trek provided them not only with physical exercise but also with mental relaxation, team spirit, and closer bonds with peers and faculty. The involvement of Lavasa Trekkers ensured that the trek was professionally guided, safe, and aligned with the values of environmental conservation.
In conclusion, the UNIHIKE – Class Trek with 3 BCA to Lingya Ghat Waterfalls was a highly enriching and memorable event. It highlighted the importance of balancing academics with outdoor wellness activities and reaffirmed the role of Lavasa Trekkers in fostering student well-being, teamwork, and sustainability in alignment with SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-Being).
