UNIHIKE – Class Teacher Trek with 3BBA B

On the 30th of August 2025, the School of Business and Management (BBA) at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, organized an engaging and meaningful trek under the banner of UNIHIKE – Class Teacher Trek with 3BBA B. The event was designed to create a stronger bond between students and their class teacher, while also promoting health, wellness, and teamwork in line with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being). The trek was coordinated by Dr. Saran Murali, Class Teacher of 3BBA B, along with Prof. Sneha, in collaboration with Lavasa Trekkers.

The day began with students and faculty gathering at the Central Block of the campus. At exactly 2:30 PM, the group boarded the bus and headed toward the scenic Hotel Ekaant region, a location well known for its serene surroundings and natural beauty. The trek commenced from there, taking participants through the lush Nature Trails near Ekaant. With around 25 enthusiastic student participants and two faculty coordinators, the event was both energetic and vibrant.

The trek was not just a physical activity but a platform for building stronger connections between the students and their class teacher, Dr. Saran Murali. Students often meet their teachers within the formal environment of classrooms, lectures, and assessments. This activity provided a refreshing break from that routine, allowing everyone to interact informally in an open, natural setting. Throughout the trek, conversations flowed freely—students shared their thoughts, aspirations, and lighthearted moments with their teacher, while the teacher, in turn, guided, encouraged, and connected with them on a personal level. The shared experience of climbing together, laughing, and even facing the small challenges of the trail helped nurture mutual trust and respect.

Laughter, group photos, storytelling, and moments of motivation made the journey memorable. The climb itself, though moderately challenging, encouraged teamwork. Students supported one another, ensuring that no one was left behind. The class teacher also played an active role, joining in the fun, motivating students, and ensuring that the essence of the activity—collective growth—was realized. The trek became symbolic of life’s journey: filled with ups and downs but rewarding when completed together as a team.

The UNIHIKE trek also aligned with the spirit of Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being). By encouraging physical fitness through trekking, the program highlighted the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle, reducing stress, and prioritizing both mental and physical health. Additionally, the informal bonding reinforced the idea that education is not limited to classrooms but extends to holistic development, where teachers act as mentors and companions in shaping students’ life skills.

The event concluded successfully with a sense of achievement and fulfillment. Students returned to campus with happy memories, stronger bonds, and greater appreciation for their class teacher. Such initiatives also contribute to building a healthy campus culture, where learning is coupled with experiences that promote emotional intelligence, social skills, and resilience.

The UNIHIKE trek with 3BBA B was much more than an outdoor activity—it was an experience that reinforced the value of relationships, health, and community spirit. It demonstrated how simple, thoughtful initiatives can foster a deeper connection between teachers and students, while simultaneously contributing to broader developmental goals.
