UNIHIKE with 1MSC GFA
In collaboration with the Department of Commerce, the Lavasa Trekkers Club hosted the UNIHIKE-Class Trek Series with 1 MSCGFA at the Ekaant Nature Trails on September 6, 2025. The purpose of the event was to support overall growth of students by fusing peer camaraderie, mental renewal, and physical training in a natural environment.
At 2.45 PM, the participants gathered at Central block, where they were greeted by Dr. Mahesh Kumar T. and accompanied by Mr. Alanzo, the faculty coordinator from Lavasa Trekkers. Students were informed about the hike route, safety procedures, and sustainable practices prior to the start of the program, making it both fun and environmentally responsible. Students were taken by bus to the trekking point from which they had to hike for about one hour to reach the view point.
Excitedly, the company set out on the walk, following the wooded path that led to the nature trails. The participants strolled through areas of mist and fog and small rain showers, which contributed to the experience's unforgettable quality by creating a magical and revitalizing ambiance. The chilly mountain air and the murmur of surrounding streams brought even more tranquility to the setting, making the hike both invigorating and peaceful.
The group stopped to take in the natural surroundings after arriving at the Ekaant View Point. A serene and attractive background was produced by the tumbling river and the fog that permeated the valley. In order to reduce academic stress and regain mental clarity, students conversed, snapped pictures, and considered the value of spending time in nature. Additionally, faculty members engaged with students in casual settings, strengthening relationships and promoting candid communication outside of the classroom.
By the time the walk was over, the kids said that the mix of fog and rain made the experience feel fresh and different. In addition to providing them with physical activity, they reported that it enhanced their mood, bolstered their relationships with their peers, and gave them a much-needed mental respite from their academic schedules.
All things considered, the journey was more than just a leisure activity; it was a comprehensive experiential learning exercise that encouraged environmental awareness, teamwork, and wellbeing. Lavasa Trekkers' UNIHIKE series has once again shown itself to be a significant endeavor, supporting the university's mission of holistic education while also being in line with SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-Being). Beyond physical fitness, the trek fostered a sense of responsibility towards nature, enhanced interpersonal skills, and strengthened bonds among participants. Such initiatives play an essential role in shaping well-rounded individuals who are mindful of both personal growth and their impact on the community.
In conclusion, UNIHIKE continues to be a platform where students not only explore the beauty of nature but also develop resilience, discipline, and a sense of social commitment. The success of this trek reaffirms the importance of integrating outdoor experiential learning into academic life, inspiring students to carry forward these values in their everyday actions.
