The School of Commerce, Finance and Accountancy, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council, organised an insightful session titled “Building Sustainable Businesses through Analytics, AI and Innovation” on 5th September 2026 at the Seminar Hall, Management Block. The session was led by Dr. Sudeep Shukla, Director, Interdisciplinary Research (IIR), New Delhi, who brought valuable academic and professional perspectives to the discussion on the changing landscape of the modern business.

The programme focused on the growing importance of integrating sustainability with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, data analytics and innovation. In an environment where businesses are increasingly expected to remain competitive while also addressing environmental and social concerns, the session highlighted the need for organisations to rethink traditional approaches to decision-making and growth. Dr. Shukla discussed how technology-driven insights can help businesses identify opportunities, improve efficiency and respond more effectively to rapidly changing market conditions.

A major emphasis of the session was on the role of data analytics in informed decision-making. Businesses today generate and access large volumes of data, but the ability to analyse and interpret this information has become a crucial competitive advantage. The session helped students understand how analytical tools can support organisations in identifying customer preferences, forecasting market trends, optimising resources and improving operational performance. The discussion further explored the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in contemporary organisations. AI is increasingly being used to automate processes, enhance customer experiences, improve forecasting and support strategic decisions. At the same time, the session encouraged students to recognise that technological adoption must be accompanied by ethical considerations and responsible management practices.
