StatConnect 2026

Bridging Campuses, Ideas and Experiences was an inter-campus academic and experiential learning programme organized by the School of Sciences, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, for visiting students and faculty from the Bangalore Central Campus. The programme was conceptualized to create a meaningful platform for academic exchange, technical learning, career awareness, experiential education, and interaction between students and faculty from the two campuses. It aimed to strengthen inter-campus collaboration while providing participants with opportunities to learn beyond the classroom through a balanced combination of academic, professional, technical, social, and experiential activities.

The programme began with a Welcome and Campus Orientation, which introduced the visiting students and faculty to the Pune Lavasa Campus, its academic environment, facilities, and the overall schedule of the programme. The orientation helped participants become familiar with the campus and prepared them for the activities planned during the visit. It also created a welcoming environment and established the foundation for meaningful interaction throughout the programme.

A key academic component of StatConnect 2026 was the Academic Interaction and Workshop with Pune Lavasa Campus Students, conducted by the 2nd Year MSc Data Science students from the Bangalore Central Campus. This activity provided a valuable opportunity for students from both campuses to engage in peer learning, academic discussion, and knowledge sharing. The session encouraged collaborative learning and allowed students to exchange ideas, experiences, and perspectives in an interactive academic setting.

Technical skill development was another important focus of the programme. CHRIST Infotech conducted practical training sessions on Advanced SQL and Advanced Excel. These sessions were designed to strengthen students’ technical competencies in areas such as database querying, data handling, data organization, analysis, and the effective use of digital tools. The hands-on nature of the sessions helped students connect theoretical learning with practical applications and enhanced their confidence in using tools that are relevant to academic work and professional environments.

The programme also included a Career Guidance and Placement Session by CPCG, Pune Lavasa Campus. This session focused on career planning, employability, placement preparation, professional skills, and awareness of career opportunities. It provided students with useful guidance on preparing themselves for recruitment processes and future professional roles. The session added an important career-oriented dimension to the overall programme by complementing academic and technical learning with professional development.

Along with academic and career-focused sessions, StatConnect 2026 included several activities aimed at promoting student engagement and holistic development. Friendly Matches and Student Interaction provided an informal platform for students from both campuses to connect with one another. These activities encouraged teamwork, sportsmanship, communication, and interpersonal bonding. A Trekking Activity was also organized, giving students an opportunity to experience the natural environment of Lavasa while promoting physical well-being, teamwork, and group interaction.

An Academic Session by the SDG Cell, Pune Lavasa Campus was included to create awareness about sustainable development. The session encouraged students to understand the importance of sustainability and to relate academic learning to broader social, environmental, and developmental concerns. This added a values-based and socially responsible dimension to the programme.

The visiting students also participated in a Campus, Lavasa City and Village Visit. This activity provided them with exposure to the local environment, community, and distinctive setting of the Lavasa region. The visit extended the learning experience beyond formal academic spaces and helped students gain a broader understanding of the surroundings in which the Pune Lavasa Campus operates.

One of the major highlights of the programme was the Industry Visit to Fujitsu, Pune and IMD, Pune. These visits provided students with valuable professional and institutional exposure and enabled them to observe real-world working environments. The experience helped students understand how academic knowledge, technology, data, organizational practices, and professional skills are applied in practice. Such exposure was particularly useful in connecting classroom learning with industry and institutional contexts.

The programme concluded with a Valedictory Session, during which students and faculty reflected on their experiences and shared feedback on the different activities conducted during StatConnect 2026. The session also acknowledged the contributions of the faculty members, resource persons, organizers, support teams, and students who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme. It provided an appropriate conclusion to the inter-campus learning experience and highlighted the major outcomes and takeaways of the visit.

Overall, StatConnect 2026: Bridging Campuses, Ideas and Experiences successfully brought together academic learning, technical training, career guidance, sustainability awareness, industry exposure, teamwork, physical activities, and experiential learning within a single inter-campus programme of the School of Sciences. It strengthened interaction and collaboration between the Bangalore Central Campus and Pune Lavasa Campus and provided students with opportunities to develop academic, technical, professional, interpersonal, and practical skills. The programme offered a meaningful learning experience beyond the classroom and contributed to stronger academic connections, peer engagement, and knowledge exchange between the two campuses.
