VIHAAN 2026
The Department of Commerce, School of Commerce, Finance and Accountancy, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, organised VIHAAN 2026 on 19 September 2026 as a vibrant intra-department festival celebrating student leadership, teamwork, creativity, and participation. Inspired by the world of Game of Thrones, VIHAAN was conceptualised around five houses, with students divided into teams that competed across a range of activities while representing the identity and spirit of their respective houses.
The journey towards VIHAAN formally began with the CUCA Investiture Ceremony held on 18 September 2026 in the Management Block Auditorium. The ceremony marked the induction of the elected student leadership team of the Christ University Commerce Association and entrusted them with the responsibility of contributing actively to the academic, cultural, professional, and co-curricular life of the Department.
The elected leadership team comprised Jithin Anto Shaji as President, Hitansh Bafna as Vice President, Mauli Shree Pandey as Secretary, Mohammed Ameer Khan as Events and Operations Head, Danish Mandal and Arpit Kumar Mittal as Social Media and Public Relations Heads, and Hafsa Khamkar as Budget and Finance Head. The CUCA team also included Bornika Samanta and Pranav Soni as Class Coordinators for 1 BCom, Shreya Thakur and Sarthak Sharma for 3 BCom, Adyant Raghuvanshi for 5 BCom, and Prasannalakshmi K for 1 MSc. Aavishi Dabral served as Cultural Coordinator, while Saiharesh V served as Sports Coordinator. The Investiture Ceremony provided the newly inducted team with an immediate opportunity to translate leadership into action, with VIHAAN taking place the very next day.The core organising team of VIHAAN brought together the elected CUCA members along with students who played an important role in planning and executing the festival. The team included Sarthak Joshi, Vasitav Bali, and Saumil Gupta from 3 BCom, along with Vedang Saxena, Ameya Laddh, Manav Bohra, Isaah Basath, and Adarsh Ranjan from 5 BCom. Together, the team worked across areas including event planning, coordination, communication, logistics, participant management, publicity, and on-ground execution. The Game of Thrones-inspired five-house format gave VIHAAN a distinctive identity and added an element of excitement to the festival. Students participated not merely as individuals but as representatives of their respective houses, encouraging healthy competition, strategic participation, collaboration, and a strong sense of belonging. Throughout the day, students enthusiastically supported their teams, participated in various activities, and contributed to the energetic atmosphere of the festival.
VIHAAN also provided students with opportunities to demonstrate abilities beyond academics. Organisers experienced the practical demands of event management, teamwork, problem-solving, and timely decision-making, while participants showcased creativity, confidence, collaboration, and competitive spirit.
The close progression from the Investiture Ceremony on 18 September to VIHAAN on 19 September made the occasion particularly meaningful. Within a day of formally assuming their responsibilities, the student leadership and core organising team worked together to execute a major departmental initiative. VIHAAN 2026 ultimately became a celebration of leadership, collective effort, house spirit, creativity, and the vibrant student community of the Department.
