Embracing Digital Transformation: Introduction of Digital Evaluation at Lavasa Campus

The transition towards technology-enabled academic processes marks an important step in strengthening the quality, efficiency, and transparency of higher education. As part of this digital transformation, the Lavasa Campus conducted orientation and clarification sessions on the ESPRO Digital Evaluation System and Question Bank processes on 25 and 26 September 2026.

The programme was designed to introduce the Digital Evaluation System at the Lavasa Campus and create awareness among faculty and key academic and administrative stakeholders. The sessions were facilitated by Dr. Manjunatha, Custodian, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Dr. Arun Kumar, Assistant Registrar, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), and Dr. Nisha Mary Thomas, Coordinator of Examinations, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Kengeri Campus.

On 25 September 2026, the orientation programme was conducted for faculty members across disciplines. The programme was organised in three focused sessions of 1.5 hours each, enabling participants to understand the ESPRO workflow and clarify questions related to the Question Bank. The sessions encouraged active participation and provided an opportunity for faculty members to understand the practical aspects of transitioning to digital evaluation.

The programme concluded with a dedicated one-hour session at the Evaluation Centre for representatives from the Academic Office, IT team, Custodians, and Examination Office. This session focused on operational coordination, technical requirements, responsibilities, and the processes necessary for effective implementation of digital evaluation.

A further ESPRO orientation session was conducted on 26 September 2026 for Heads of Departments and Board of Studies Coordinators. The session focused on strengthening their understanding of the system and their role in facilitating its implementation within their respective academic units.

A key strength of the programme was its role-based and interactive approach. Instead of limiting the orientation to a general demonstration, the sessions provided opportunities for different stakeholder groups to discuss their specific requirements and clarify operational concerns. The participation of academic, examination, IT, and custodial teams also promoted greater coordination across functions.

The introduction of ESPRO at the Lavasa Campus represents an important step towards building a structured and technology-enabled evaluation ecosystem. At the local level, it supports efficient academic and examination processes. At the regional and national levels, it contributes to the broader digital transformation of higher education. Globally, it reflects the growing adoption of technology-enabled assessment and evaluation practices.

The programme has created greater awareness, preparedness, and role clarity among stakeholders. Faculty members, HoDs, BoS Coordinators, and administrative teams are now better positioned to participate in the digital evaluation process. Through continued collaboration, training, and stakeholder engagement, the initiative can support the smooth and effective implementation of ESPRO at the Lavasa Campus.

The orientation programme thus marks not merely the introduction of a digital platform, but an important step towards developing a coordinated, efficient, and future-ready approach to academic evaluation.
