Orientation on the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET)

The Centre for Competitive Examinations (CCE), CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, organised a workshop 'Orientation on the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET)', in collaboration with the School of Law, School of Business and Management - BBA, and the Department of Commerce, on Monday, 21st September 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. 

The session was organised to introduce students to the Company Secretary profession and provide them with relevant information about the CSEET and the career opportunities associated with the qualification. The orientation focused on helping students understand the CSEET examination, eligibility requirements, examination structure, preparation strategies, and career prospects. The session also introduced students to the wider professional role of Company Secretaries and their contribution to areas such as corporate governance, regulatory compliance, corporate law, and corporate decision-making.

The programme featured three resource persons with academic and professional experience in the field. Dr. Deepshikha Sharma, Assistant Professor, Vishwakarma University, Pune; Ms. Kalyani Shirode, Visiting Faculty, ILS Pune; and Mr. Nawaj Sayyad, Company Secretary, Nawaj Sayyad & Associates, shared their insights with the participants. Their varied experiences helped students gain a broader understanding of the qualification and the professional opportunities available after pursuing the Company Secretary course.

The speakers provided students with practical guidance on approaching the CSEET examination and highlighted the importance of proper preparation and understanding of the examination requirements. The session also helped students gain clarity about the professional responsibilities of Company Secretaries and the different areas in which they can contribute to organisations.

An important aspect of the orientation was the connection between academic learning and professional practice. Through the experiences shared by the resource persons, students were able to understand how knowledge of corporate law, governance, compliance, and regulatory frameworks is applied in professional settings. This provided students with a more practical perspective on the Company Secretary profession.

The programme also encouraged students to explore the CS qualification as an additional career pathway. By providing information directly from experienced academics and a practising professional, the orientation enabled students to develop a better understanding of the course and its professional scope.

The workshop was attended by students of various programmes including Bachelor of Law (BA LLB) (Honours), Bachelor of Law (BBA LLB) (Honours), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) (Business Analytics/ Honours/ Honours with Research), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) - Financial Analytics, and Master of Science (MSc) - Global Finance & Analytics. During the question and answer session, the students got the opportunity to interact with the resource persons.


The event was conducted as part of the CCE's broader objective of providing students with career awareness, guidance, and exposure to professional opportunities. The expert-led format of the session provided an effective platform for students to learn about a professional qualification beyond their regular academic curriculum.

Overall, the CSEET Orientation was a valuable learning and career-awareness initiative. It provided students with relevant information about the examination, preparation, professional responsibilities, and career prospects associated with the Company Secretary qualification. The session encouraged students to explore the opportunities available in the field and make informed choices regarding their future academic and professional pursuits.
